Helen M. Silva is an Associate in Lozano Smith’s San Luis Obispo office. Her practice is focused on serving public agencies in education law matters, including governance, student issues, contracts, public records, and representing clients in administrative hearings.

Experience

Ms. Silva has extensive experience drafting pleadings, managing complex caseloads, and representing clients in contested proceedings. Prior to joining Lozano Smith, Ms. Silva represented clients in family law matters and acted as court-appointed counsel for children. Her work includes handling sensitive discipline, due process, and advocacy matters, informed by her background as both an attorney and a former high school educator.

Education

Ms. Silva received her Juris Doctor from Golden Gate University School of Law, graduating with honors. Prior to that, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California.
