Overview

Aislinn Kiyomi Roberts is an Associate in Lozano Smith’s San Luis Obispo office and co-chair of the firm’s Labor and Employment Practice Group. Her legal practice is focused on the labor and employment, investigations, and governance aspects of public agency law.

Experience

Ms. Roberts assists clients on various labor and employment issues, including discipline, layoffs, discrimination complaints, disability accommodations, leaves, and workplace violence. Her labor and employment practice also includes grievance processing, grievance mediation and arbitration, and contract interpretation. She also advises clients on student-related issues such as records, discipline, searches, and constitutional issues.

Ms. Roberts advises employers through the investigation process and serves as a third-party investigator for issues involving sexual harassment, Uniform Complaint Procedures, Title IX, retaliation, discrimination, and other complaints that may arise in the education setting.

Prior to joining Lozano Smith, Ms. Roberts represented clients in family law matters and cases involving special education, Title IX, probate and trust, and civil litigation, including construction, business, employment, and contracts.

Education

Ms. Roberts earned her Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School. During law school, she served as Treasurer and Finance Chair of the Disability Law Society, the Treasurer of the Transfer Student Association, and the Treasurer of the Wine and Spirits Law Society. Ms. Roberts earned her B.A. in Political Science with a Pre-Law Concentration from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
