This webinar will provide an overview of the legal issues surrounding video surveillance, audio recording, and privacy in California schools. We will discuss constitutional and statutory privacy protections, surveillance of students and employees, and the use of personal recording devices. The session will also examine the roles of special education, FERPA, the California Public Records Act, and collective bargaining in the implementation and management of school surveillance practices.
