Overview

Lydia J. Tonozzi is an Associate in Lozano Smith's Walnut Creek office. Her legal practice is focused primarily on Title IX, student, and special education matters for public agencies.

Experience

Through her position with the San Francisco Superior Court, Ms. Tonozzi is experienced in reviewing pleadings, conducting research, and preparing memoranda for judicial officers on a variety of issues including writ of mandate petitions, dispositive motions, and motions for preliminary injunctions. Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Tonozzi advised on Title IX matters, including reviewing investigation reports, questioning witnesses, and preparing for hearings. She also conducted intakes for Title IX complainants, researched legal issues implicating Title IX and Title VII, and composed memorandums on findings.

Ms. Tonozzi’s broader experience involves child custody and visitation matters, as well as public policy work related to family health.

Education

Ms. Tonozzi earned a law degree from UC College of the Law, San Francisco with a concentration in health law. Prior to that, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy with an emphasis in Ethics and Public Policy from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
