Overview

Michael D. Campion is Senior Counsel in Lozano Smith’s Los Angeles office, and primarily assists public agency clients on litigation matters.

Experience

Mr. Campion is experienced all aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, and settlement negotiations. Additionally, he defends administrative decisions, manages administrative records, drafts opposition briefs, and advocates in court. He is skilled in defending state agencies in litigation involving FEHA, the Fair Chance Act, and whistleblower retaliation suits.

Prior to joining Lozano Smith, Mr. Campion served as Deputy Attorney General IV at the California Department of Justice, Attorney General’s Office in Los Angeles. He practiced in employment litigation and administrative adjudication of personnel disputes.

Education

Mr. Campion earned his Juris Doctor from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, where he was a George Cochran Scholarship recipient. He earned a Master of Arts in Social Science as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Chicago. He graduated with honors and was an Earl S. Johnson Prize nominee.
