Overview

Aysha Pal is an Associate in Lozano Smith's Walnut Creek office. Her practice is focused on facilities and business issues faced by her public agency clients.

Experience

Ms. Pal previously worked as a financial Risk Specialist for the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco where she identified top operational, legal, and regulatory risks in supervised financial institutions by conducting consumer complaint investigations, participating in bank examinations, and performing root cause analysis. She also has experience as a Compliance Reporting Officer and Compliance Analyst for financial institutions, where she performed and documented risk-focused reviews to assure that transactional and operational activities were in full compliance of company policies and regulatory requirements.

Prior to her career in financial compliance, Ms. Pal served as a Law Clerk for both state and federal public defender offices, where she conducted legal research on defense strategies and represented clients during pre-trial proceedings. In additon, Ms. Pal served as a Law Clerk for the Victims of Crime Resource Center, where she performed legal research related to victims' rights and provided educational presentations to the community.

Education

Ms. Pal earned her law degree from McGeorge School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California, Davis. During law school, Ms. Pal focused on Criminal Justice & Trial Advocacy and organized a Proposition 47 / Criminal Records Expungement Clinic for her community. In addition, Ms. Pal was involved in serval campus initiatives, including the Peer Mentorship program, and received the Capital Public Service Award for completing over 150 hours of community service. During her undergraduate studies, Ms. Pal participated in the Davis Honors Challenge program and volunteered at her local Assemblymember's office to help resolve constituent concerns. In addition, Ms. Pal served as the Vice-Chairperson of the Ethnic and Cultural Affairs Commission and as a member of the Campus Judicial Board.
