Environmental Responsibility Statement
Lozano Smith strives to incorporate responsible practices into our own operations, including recycling, telecommuting and conserving resources and energy. Lozano Smith welcomes opportunities to partner with our clients as they practice environmentally responsible programs in our schools and in our communities.

The Green Movement
The Green Movement has made hybrids, solar panels and carbon footprints all part of our everyday conversations. The Green Movement has also presented many choices and challenges as we take steps – some voluntary and some required – towards conserving natural resources. These choices often require careful consideration. At Lozano Smith, we are mindful to include long-term needs and financial realities in the conversations with our clients, as they make decisions that will affect the students and citizens of tomorrow.

An Evolving Frontier
The Green Movement has sparked a whole new industry of solar panels, wind turbines, and energy experts. However, one size does not fit all. Each product or service should consider the needs of the individual district and be tailored to fit those needs. In addition, Lozano Smith recognizes that “Going Green” has become even more complex as California implements the nation’s first mandated Green Building Code for all new construction. Dubbed “CalGreen,” the Code became effective January 1, 2011, and lays out parameters for new buildings that include water consumption, energy efficiency and inspections, waste diversion and use of low-pollutant products, such as paints and flooring. Lozano Smith provides knowledgeable, customized counsel that considers the relevant factors of our clients’ circumstances. The goal is to identify what is best for the client and the environment.
