Overview

Laure R. Becker is an Associate in Lozano Smith's Sacramento office. She advises school districts in various areas related to labor and employment, and special education.

Ms. Becker is AWI (Association of Workplace Investigators) trained and has significant experience conducting prompt, thorough and effective workplace and Title IX investigations.

Experience

Prior to joining Lozano Smith, Ms. Becker conducted neutral, independent workplace investigations for private and public entities. She also conducted Title IX sexual misconduct investigations for K-12 and higher education institutions. She has served as a Hearing Officer in Title IX campus sexual assault cases. She is trained in trauma-informed investigation techniques.

Education

Ms. Becker earned her law degree from the University of California, Davis School of Law where she was Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Juvenile Law and Policy. She also served as President of Advocates for Youth Justice and was a member of the Trial Practice Honors Board. Ms. Becker earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors in Comparative Literature and French from the University of California, Davis.
